Short answer: TOMIX makes tight-lock TN couplers (密連形TN) in gray, black, and unspecified colors, with or without molded electrical-contact boxes, and in many model-specific “SP” versions. Of the 53 tight-lock TN parts that name their models on TOMIX’s official pages, 25 are gray, 7 are black, and 21 do not state a color. Parts with the same name can be made for different trains, so always choose by your model’s product number.

The electrical-contact boxes are part of the coupler’s shape, copied from the real train. They are different from TOMIX’s electrical-contact coupler sets.
Same name, different parts

- JC6347: JR 167 Series “Märchen” livery (98356)
- JC6393 (two-tier electrical contacts): JR E235-1000 Series (89403, 98402)
- JC6395 (with air pipes, ¥550): JR West 103 Series (98495)
- JC6396 (with electrical contacts): JR E129 and E233-3000 Series (98474 and others)
- JC7264: JNR KuMoHa 40 (9018)
Gray is listed far more often, mainly for JR suburban EMUs and DMUs such as the 223, 225, 313, 521, HC85, and H100.
Special versions
- With skirt (スカート付), ¥1,100: JC7267 for the JR 789-0 Series “Super Hakucho” (98895, 98896) and JC7268 for the Tobu 500 Series “Revaty” (98427, 98428).
- No front coupler cover: JC42 for E3 Series and 400 Series Shinkansen models, and JC6331 for the refurbished 200 Series Shinkansen (92852).
- For older JNR EMUs (旧型国電用): JC6329 for the Type 72/73 EMU (92448).
- For the E6 Series: JC6333 (92489).
